ECS renews multiple accreditations and maintains high operational standards
ECS Engineering Services has demonstrated its commitment to operational excellence by maintaining multiple external accreditations in an intense period of audit and recertification. Transparently displaying the compliancy of its standards, processes and systems to customers – ECS continually works to meet and exceed the high expectations of the demanding industries it supports.
An established framework contractor for the Environment Agency and numerous water utilities throughout the UK, ECS installs, refurbishes and maintains a wide range of critical infrastructure throughout the country and provides diverse electromechanical services for multiple governmental authorities. It regularly fabricates steelwork for construction projects and custom mechanical solutions, including highly demanding nuclear decommissioning applications.
During Q2 of 2023, ECS successfully completed the renewal of its accreditations with various certifying bodies. This included the annual extension of its BS EN ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards by BM Trada – assessing quality, environmental and health and safety management systems respectively. Demonstrating its position as a premium supplier to the construction and utilities market, ECS has extended its Constructionline Gold and Achilles UVDB certification. It has also retained a Gold Standard for the British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) Sustainability Charter, showcasing its environmental and social responsibility.
As a specialist fabricator of structural steelwork, ECS has evidenced its expertise by passing its BS EN 1090 audit with flying colours. Its factory production controls ensure fabrications support for the highest consequence structures up to Execution Class 4 (EXC4). To complement this, ECS has held its ISO 3834 certification for the welding of metallic materials and has also extended its BCSA RQSC certification for both structural steelwork and bridgeworks.
To assist in upholding these high standards, ECS employs internal safety, health and environment (SHE) teams and quality engineers.
Mark Watkins, Managing Director at ECS, adds: “Our entire workforce is committed to achieving high levels of safety, wellbeing, compliance, and sustainability across all our activities. We want our customers to have the utmost confidence in our abilities, so we continually invest in our standards, processes, and systems, sharing our progress as an organisation. A big thank to everyone at ECS that has worked to uphold these service levels and maintain these external assurances.”
