To conduct fabrication operations and the manufacture of product to the highest possible standard of quality, efficiency and with minimal wastage. To ensure a provision of a safe working environment for all colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:

- To ensure compliance with engineering drawings, 3834 and General Guidance notes to comply with the correct information regarding fabrication efficiency
- Where designs are complicated, ensure collaborative solutions are considered. Ensure overall lengths are compliant with SSOW, initialling to indicate this has been completed. All pre-drilled holes to be checked and dressed were required.
- To ensure all relevant fittings are fabricated to the standards expected from ECS line management.
- All flame cutting, grinding, tack welds or lifting operations are to be carried out in a safe manner and you are to comply with ECS procedures to maintain training relevancy.
- All tasks are to be marked to ensure accuracy of weld size, load number, paint specifications and any other relevant information to assist in later stages of completion.
- Ensure you sign and date the stamped area of the manufacturing drawing and initial the route card to confirm all items are completed.
- Ensure all drawings along with the Route card are returned to the inspection bench. In the event of an item being part completed i.e.: welding is required prior to fabrication being complete this should be clearly identified on the drawing to indicate what stage fabrication is at prior to the item leaving his bench. This is to be done in conjunction with inspection team. The stamped area is not to be signed until the item is complete and all checks have been carried out.
- To ensure all engineering drawing instruction are complied with and seeking clarification from your line manager where required.
- Ensure all tasks are prepared for delivery / audit action if necessary.
- Ensure you only operate equipment that is calibrated, in test and in good operating order and ensure the operative is trained to sign off quality of the equipment.
- On advice from your line manager, you are to contribute to all quality audits and assist in resolution of issues with product, processes and systems.
- Adhere to ECS’s quality procedures, standards and specifications.
- Work with your Team Leader to discharge contract obligations.
- Advising the Line Manager in a timely manner where time related changes are required.
- Provide weekly and monthly data to the Team Leader to allow collation of information to set production priorities and to meet departmental KPI’s,
- Any other duties assigned in line with the scope and seniority of the role
