Scottish Water reconfirms ECS as Archimedes screw pump partner
Scottish Water has extended its Agreement with ECS Engineering Services for the supply, installation and repair of Archimedes screw pumps. The original Agreement was for one year and covered the supply of a complete service for screw pump provision, maintenance, repair and refurbishment, as does the extension.
The Agreement endorses the quality and value of ECS’s services, as well as its manufacturing capability and excellent site health and safety record.
Scottish Water is one of the largest operators of this type of equipment in the UK. Screw pumps are used in many applications, including inlets to sewage treatment works, storm water applications, land drainage pumping stations and for pumping industrial waste water. These pumps have many advantages that lend themselves to these duties, such as their simple design and slow speed operation which helps make them very reliable over long periods of time. Ultimately they are very efficient in use and generally require little maintenance.
ECS is highly regarded for its specialist expertise with screw pumps and has a number of arrangements with Tier 1 water industry framework contractors. Amongst its services ECS can re-screed concrete troughs, replace bearings and refurbish full drive trains. The company’s field personnel work to the highest standards and are backed up by extensive in-house capabilities.
As well as repair and refurbishment services, ECS can supply new screw pumps through its close relationship with Landustrie, a leading Dutch manufacturer of Archimedes screw pumps. Significantly Landustrie is known as an innovator that continues to develop the technology in terms of drive design, trough moulding and lower bearing advances.
When combined with ECS’s professional installation and maintenance service levels, users can expect to see improvements in overall running efficiency and reduced maintenance costs. Based in Nottinghamshire, ECS supports water and wastewater installations throughout the country. Its commitment to maintaining excellent standards is recognised with the RoSPA Gold Award for Occupational Health & Safety.
Jamie Wesley, Contracts Manager at ECS, comments: “Having a contract extended always reminds us that our focus on engineering quality and excellent service produces long term results.”
